this is a thread giving my experience and the experience of others with internet browsers and their security.
here's a little bit of my experience with them.
first off, here's a list of browsers from the most intrusive to the most protective:
(these are only out of the browsers I have used and tested)
[glow=none]
[smear:FF0000]Google Chrome
Internet Explorer 9
Fire Fox
Internet Explorer 8
Opera 15 to 19
Opera 12.17
Comodo IceDragon
Comodo Dragon[/smear:00FF00][/glow]
while Opera 12 is the safest most popular browser,
you still need add-ons as unlike Comodo, Opera doesn't release antivirus software.
the reason I rate IceDragon as less than Dragon is because I've had a few issues where I needed to install add-ons to stop popups and redirections from occurring, where as I didn't need much of anything with Dragon.
like Opera 15-19, Dragon is built off the Chromium engine, which is why I rate Opera 12's Presto engine to be more secure.
so Dragon uses RAM, and alot of it.
due to IE10 not being capable of running on XP, I havn't been able to test it...
but IE's downfall lies in ActiveX which allows web developers to potentially create and execute files from your machine.
(meaning you could recieve a RAT and not even know someone has control over your computer)
