I love to collect viewable models, especially rare and obscure ones. The idea of being able to have a model for my personal display is just really cool to me. One day I'll probably turn to papercraft.
My main goal right now is obtaining Crash Bandicoot's 2nd PSX model. I've contacted WAY too many people for info on that (even the original leaders of Naughty Dog ;D .) There's also this Earthworm Jim model I'd like to have. It's shown up in a Blitz Sonic character mod, it's shown up as a SSBB hack. So unless the creator of both works is the same person, you'd think that the model would be easy to find? Well, it's not the case. I've contacted both with no answer, but now I'm looking a little deeper...
But that's another thing. I love the search, getting a model before others have it. It makes it all the more triumphant when you finally get your hands on it. Occasionally I will release the models if I think they will have a use, too. The last work I released was a bunch of unique characters from the PC version of Tony Hawk's Underground 2. I ripped them using the available mod's debug scene viewers, which all have a scene that forces the player into a T-pose. If you use 3D Ripper DX on that scene and apply rotation to the result, you're gaurunteed perfect model rips :) .
I've also started the first Dolphin-3DVia Printscreen compatibility guide, which notes the state of quality that various Gamecube game models can be captured at using the program. One day I'll learn how to convert my own models, and that... That will be fun.
