me:
Softonic Profile pic rejected... where to contact??
I was led to a page of links when I clicked the "this form" link in the rejection email.
I would like to contact someone about my profile pic, and why I chose it.
unfortunately the page the email-link sent me to is a solutions page that gives me no info about contact,
other than directing me here to ask a Q.
I was expecting a contact page that doesn't deal with advertisement and partnership...
so where do I go to contact anyone?? :/
thanks :)

You have contacted the correct support centre!
Please check out the following link: en.softonic.com/legal-avatar#legal_avatar
Here we explain which pictures will not be approved by Softonic.
I hope this answers your questions!
Should you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.[/glow]
me:
yes, I've read that, and I know you don't know who owns the pic...
but my image doesn't violate any of your terms that I see.
I read that before-hand...
the image in question is my global ava which you can find on my forum, forums I'm on, G+, Skype, and many other places.
(google-search my name "Tcll5850", "Tcll", or "DarkPikachu" and about 70% of the results will show me with that image)

note: you can adjust the image size by changing "144" to the pixel-width you'd want.
(original width is 481 due to G+ cropping)
so anyways...
this is the image everyone knows me by. (or my other DP image with a scythe)
and I'd like for that to be my ava here as well. :)
if you see something wrong with it that got it rejected, please tell me. :)
me:
oh... also
I'd prefer NOT to post a pic of myself as I have a thing with identity on the net

We're sorry, but your avatar may be copyright-protected, as it is a popular anime character (Pikachu).
That's why we can't accept it. However, you can upload any other image that meets our legal standards,
and it doesn't have to be a picture of yourself:
en.softonic.com/legal-avatar#legal_avatar
If you have any other questions please let us know, thanks! [/glow]
me:
WUUUUUT, why does that even matter... :o
- I made the texture
- I'm not selling it, or asking for money on it (there would be a legal charge there)
- he's already more than out there in many major other places
if there was a copywrite, I wouldn't even be allowed to use it as an ava anywhere else.
(look what happened to Nyan-Cat)
unless you guys intend on making a profit off my ava (which I highly doubt),
then I personally would say you guys are more than safe. :)
but heck, don't take my word for it, go on and take a look yourselves, and inform me if I'm beyond wrong. :)
me:
I mean for cryin out loud, it's on my Google+
if there were any charges, I'd be getting my A chewed off by google.
I have yet to get a response from them.
take note of how they keep referring me to their legal avatar page after I've already informed them I've read the whole thing before-hand.
